Perfectly situated in the beautiful mountains of western North Carolina, Wolf Creek Academy serves teenage girls and boys on different parts of its campus who have a history of behavior difficulties, damaged family relationships, or other emotional problems.
Wolf Creek specializes in attachment disorders and other serious relational and self-destructive behavioral difficulties in boys and girls. Our staff is highly qualified and trained to deal with and treat various psychological disorders that many other boarding schools that call themselves “therapeutic” are not equipped to handle.
We are a faith-based program devoted to integrity, character, and accountability. Each of the teens who attend our program can grow into productive members of society when given guidance and a chance to reach their potential.
Wolf Creek Academy sets up a loving home environment for teen boys and girls who have gone off course. Residents live in a comfortable home run by a husband and wife team of houseparents and residential assistants. Inside our family model, boys and girls participate in daily chores normal for home life and learn to respect authority and cooperate with their peers.
Parent involvement is critical to the effectiveness of our therapeutic boarding school program.
Parents stay informed with weekly verbal and email reports and remain involved in progress of their teen.
For the teen, every day starts with small group counseling sessions regarding anger management, respect for authority, and lots of other topics relevant to teens. Weekly individual sessions help teens make progress toward their counseling goals. We also have a substance abuse program to manage issues related to drug and alcohol use or other addictive behaviors for example eating disorders or cutting.
Our accredited school lets students achieve at their own pace.
Under our fully accredited Christian curriculum, students can complete missing credits in their education and work successfully at their unique rate. Teachers and assistants monitor progress through the workbooks and help students who require extra help with their work. Credits transfer easily to public and private schools, and those who complete the curriculum earn a high school diploma. Our new skills development center instructs students in a skilled trade along with vital skills for the manufacturing environment including welding skills, shop safety, work ethic for first time employees, and also other disciplines.
To keep teens physically active we conduct daily PE classes including many different sports and seasonal outdoor adventure activities, including hiking (the Appalacian Trail is nearby) and skiing. Weekly social activities also vary and may include bowling, movies, church, visiting museums plus much more.
Wolf Creek Academy wants your teen to learn a more productive and positive way of life, improve their academics, and to improve their decision-making abilities.
