Found in the beautiful mountains of western North Carolina, Wolf Creek Academy serves teenage boys and girls on different parts of its campus who have a history of behavior difficulties, strained family relationships, or any other emotional issues.
Wolf Creek specializes in attachment disorders and other serious relational and self-destructive behavioral difficulties in boys and girls. Our staff is highly qualified and trained to deal with and treat various psychological disorders that many other boarding schools that call themselves “therapeutic” are not equipped to handle.
We are a faith-based program dedicated to integrity, character, and personal responsibility. All of the teens who attend our program can become productive citizens when given guidance and the opportunity to reach their potential.
Wolf Creek Academy gives a loving home environment for teen boys and girls who lack direction. Residents live in a comfortable home with a married couple team of houseparents and residential assistants. In our family model, boys and girls assist with daily chores normal for home life and learn how to respect authority and interact with their peers.
Parent involvement is very important to the success of our therapeutic boarding school program.
Parents receive weekly verbal and email reports and play a role in the progress of their child.
For the teen, each day commences with small group counseling sessions regarding anger management, respect for authority, and a lot of other topics relevant to teens. Weekly individual sessions help residents make progress toward their counseling goals. In addition, we have a substance abuse program to cope with issues related to drug and alcohol use or any other addictive behaviors for example eating disorders or cutting.
Our accredited school lets students succeed at their own pace.
With our fully accredited Christian curriculum, students can fill in gaps in their education and work successfully at their particular speed. Teachers and assistants monitor progress through the classwork and help students who can use extra help with their work. Credits transfer easily to public and private schools, and those who complete the curriculum earn a high school diploma. Our recently added skills development center offers a skilled trade as well as vital skills for a manufacturing environment including welding skills, shop safety, work ethic for new employees, and also other disciplines.
To keep teens physically active we hold daily PE classes including various sports and seasonal outdoor adventure activities, including hiking (the Appalacian Trail is nearby) and skiing. Every week, social activities also vary and may include bowling, movies, church, visiting museums and much more.
Wolf Creek Academy wants your teen to learn a more productive and positive way of life, improve their academics, and to improve their decision-making abilities.
