Located in the beautiful mountains of western North Carolina, Wolf Creek Academy serves teenage girls and boys on different parts of its campus who have ongoing behavior difficulties, strained family relationships, or any other emotional issues.
Wolf Creek specializes in attachment disorders and other serious relational and self-destructive behavioral difficulties in boys and girls. Our staff is highly qualified and trained to deal with and treat various psychological disorders that many other boarding schools that call themselves “therapeutic” are not equipped to handle.
We are a faith-based program dedicated to integrity, character, and accountability. Each of the teens who attend our program can become productive members of society when given guidance and an opportunity to reach their potential.
Wolf Creek Academy gives a loving home environment for teen boys and girls who lack direction. Residents live in a comfortable home run by a husband and wife team of houseparents and residential assistants. Within our family model, girls and boys help with daily chores common to home life and discover how to respect authority and cooperate with their peers.
Parent involvement is critical to the success of our therapeutic boarding school program.
Parents receive weekly verbal and email reports and participate in the progress of their child.
For the teen, each morning begins with small group counseling sessions covering anger management, respect for authority, and a lot of other topics of importance to teens. Weekly individual sessions help residents make progress toward their counseling goals. We also have a substance abuse program to manage issues related to drug and alcohol use or any other addictive behaviors including eating disorders or cutting.
Our accredited school lets students succeed at their own pace.
Using our fully accredited Christian curriculum, students can fill in gaps in their education and work successfully at their particular pace. Teachers and assistants monitor progress through the classwork and help students who require extra help with their work. Credits transfer easily to other schools, and those who complete the curriculum earn a high school diploma. Our recently added skills development center teaches a skilled trade along with vital skills for any manufacturing environment including welding skills, shop safety, work ethic for new employees, as well as other disciplines.
To help keep teens physically active we conduct daily PE classes including various sports and seasonal outdoor adventure activities, including hiking (the Appalacian Trail is nearby) and skiing. Every week, social activities also vary and can include bowling, movies, church, visiting museums plus much more.
Wolf Creek Academy wants your teenager to learn a more productive and positive way of life, improve their academics, and to improve their decision-making abilities.
