Found in the beautiful mountains of western North Carolina, Wolf Creek Academy serves teenage boys and girls on different parts of its campus who have a record of behavior difficulties, damaged family relationships, and other emotional issues.
Wolf Creek specializes in attachment disorders and other serious relational and self-destructive behavioral difficulties in boys and girls. Our staff is highly qualified and trained to deal with and treat various psychological disorders that many other boarding schools that call themselves “therapeutic” are not equipped to handle.
We are a faith-based program devoted to integrity, character, and personal responsibility. All the teens who attend our program can learn to be productive individuals when given guidance and a chance to reach their potential.
Wolf Creek Academy sets up a nurturing home environment for teen boys and girls who have lost their way. Residents live in a comfortable home with a husband and wife team of houseparents and residential assistants. In our family model, boys and girls assist with daily chores common to home life and discover how to respect authority and cooperate with their peers.
Parent involvement is very important to the effectiveness of our therapeutic boarding school program.
Parents receive weekly verbal and email reports and remain involved in progress of their teen.
For the teen, each morning starts with small group counseling sessions regarding anger management, respect for authority, and many other topics highly relevant to teens. Weekly individual sessions help teens make progress toward their therapeutic goals. In addition, we have a substance abuse program to handle issues related to drug and alcohol use and other addictive behaviors such as eating disorders or cutting.
Our accredited school lets students succeed at their own pace.
Using our fully accredited Christian curriculum, students can complete missing credits in their education and work successfully at their own pace. Teachers and assistants monitor progress through the material and help students who require extra help with their work. Credits transfer easily to other schools, and those who complete the curriculum earn a high school diploma. Our recently added skills development center teaches a skilled trade along with vital skills for the manufacturing environment including welding skills, shop safety, work ethic for first time employees, along with other disciplines.
To keep teens physically active we conduct daily PE classes including a number of sports and seasonal outdoor adventure activities, including hiking (the Appalacian Trail is nearby) and skiing. Every week, social activities also vary and may include bowling, movies, church, visiting museums plus more.
Wolf Creek Academy wants your child to learn a more productive and positive way of life, improve their academics, and to improve their decision-making abilities.
