Situated in the beautiful mountains of western North Carolina, Wolf Creek Academy serves teenage girls and boys on different parts of its campus who have ongoing behavior difficulties, broken family relationships, and other emotional issues.
Wolf Creek specializes in attachment disorders and other serious relational and self-destructive behavioral difficulties in boys and girls. Our staff is highly qualified and trained to deal with and treat various psychological disorders that many other boarding schools that call themselves “therapeutic” are not equipped to handle.
We are a faith-based program emphasizing integrity, character, and personal responsibility. Every one of the teens who attend our program can be productive members of society when given guidance and an opportunity to reach their potential.
Wolf Creek Academy gives a nurturing home environment for teen boys and girls who have gone off course. Residents live in a comfortable home run by a married couple team of houseparents and residential assistants. In our family model, boys and girls are responsible for daily chores common to home life and learn how to respect authority and interact with their peers.
Parent involvement is important to the success of our therapeutic boarding school program.
Parents stay informed with weekly verbal and email reports and play a role in the progress of their teen.
For the teen, each day starts with small group counseling sessions regarding anger management, respect for authority, and many other topics relevant to teens. Weekly individual sessions help residents make progress toward their behavioral goals. We also have a substance abuse program to handle issues related to drug abuse and other addictive behaviors for example eating disorders or cutting.
Our accredited school lets students find success at their own pace.
In our fully accredited Christian curriculum, students can catch up in their education and work successfully at their unique speed. Teachers and assistants monitor progress through the classwork and help students who can use extra help with their work. Credits transfer easily to public and private schools, and those who complete the curriculum earn a high school diploma. Our new skills development center instructs students in a skilled trade as well as vital skills for the manufacturing environment including welding skills, shop safety, work ethic for brand new employees, along with other disciplines.
To help keep teens physically active we run daily PE classes including a variety of sports and seasonal outdoor adventure activities, including hiking (the Appalacian Trail is nearby) and skiing. Every week, social activities also vary and may include bowling, movies, church, visiting museums and much more.
Wolf Creek Academy wants your child to learn a more productive and positive way of life, improve their academics, and to improve their decision-making abilities.
