We are a faith-based program dedicated to integrity, character, and accountability. Each of the teens who attend our program can grow into productive citizens when given guidance and a chance to reach their potential.
Wolf Creek Academy sets up a safe home environment for teen boys and girls who lack direction. Residents live in a comfortable home run by a husband and wife team of houseparents and residential assistants. Inside our family model, girls and boys participate in daily chores normal for home life and learn how to respect authority and interact with their peers.
Parent involvement is very important to the success of our therapeutic boarding school program.
Parents stay informed with weekly verbal and email reports and remain involved in progress of their teen.
For the teen, each morning begins with small group counseling sessions about anger management, respect for authority, and several other topics highly relevant to teens. Weekly individual sessions help residents make progress toward their behavioral goals. In addition, we have a substance abuse program to deal with issues related to drug use or other addictive behaviors like eating disorders or cutting.
Our accredited school lets students succeed at their own pace.
With our fully accredited Christian curriculum, students can fill in gaps in their education and work successfully at their very own rate. Teachers and assistants monitor progress through the classwork and help students who need extra help with their work. Credits transfer easily to other schools, and graduates earn a high school diploma. Our new skills development center teaches a skilled trade along with vital skills for any manufacturing environment including welding skills, shop safety, work ethic for first time employees, and also other disciplines.
To keep teens physically active we conduct daily PE classes including many different sports and seasonal outdoor adventure activities, including hiking (the Appalacian Trail is nearby) and skiing. Old Hickory, Tennessee is a section of metropolitan Nashville, Tennessee, named in honor of President Andrew Jackson who was nicknamed “Old Hickory.”
This area is located in the Hadley Bend section of eastern Davidson County, Tennessee. The area is probably best known for being a former company town as the site of a large DuPont plant. Many of the houses in Old Hickory were built to house Dupont employees and supervisors in the early days of the factory’s existence.
Old Hickory is bordered by the Cumberland River on the north and west, Old Hickory Lake to the east, and the city of Lakewood, Tennessee to the south. To the north of the area is also the location of Old Hickory Lock and Dam. The main street through the area is Old Hickory Boulevard (Tennessee State Route 45).
The area today is the site of a country club, a large golf course, a city park, a Chamber of Commerce, and the Dupont plant, which continues to employ several hundred employees. It is also the home of the Nashville National Weather Service Forecast Office.
Old Hickory has its own post office, assigned ZIP Code 37138. The postal service area that uses the “Old Hickory” mailing address includes portions of both Wilson and Davidson Counties.
Many historic homes are located in the area known as the Village of Old Hickory, containing a number that are listed on the National Register of Historic Places. The smaller bungalow houses were built by DuPont as residences for factory workers, with the larger homes being designated for management. The area is currently undergoing something of a renaissance, as many of the formerly dilapidated houses are being bought, repaired and modernized.
