Found in the beautiful mountains of western North Carolina, Wolf Creek Academy serves teenage girls and boys on different parts of its campus who have a history of behavior difficulties, broken family relationships, or other emotional issues.
Wolf Creek specializes in attachment disorders and other serious relational and self-destructive behavioral difficulties in boys and girls. Our staff is highly qualified and trained to deal with and treat various psychological disorders that many other boarding schools that call themselves “therapeutic” are not equipped to handle.
We are a faith-based program dedicated to integrity, character, and accountability. Every one of the teens who attend our program can grow into productive members of society when given guidance and a chance to reach their potential.
Wolf Creek Academy gives a safe home environment for teen boys and girls who have gone off course. Residents live in a comfortable home with a husband and wife team of houseparents and residential assistants. In our family model, girls and boys are responsible for daily chores common to home life and learn to respect authority and cooperate with their peers.
Parent involvement is critical to the effectiveness of our therapeutic boarding school program.
Parents stay informed with weekly verbal and email reports and play a role in the progress of their son or daughter.
For the teen, every day starts with small group counseling sessions regarding anger management, respect for authority, and a lot of other topics relevant to teens. Weekly individual sessions help residents make progress toward their behavioral goals. We also have a substance abuse program to cope with issues related to drug use or other addictive behaviors such as eating disorders or cutting.
Our accredited school lets students succeed at their own pace.
Under our fully accredited Christian curriculum, students can fill in gaps in their education and work successfully at their particular speed. Teachers and assistants monitor progress through the courses and help students who require extra assistance with their work. Credits transfer easily to other schools, and those who complete the curriculum earn a high school diploma. Our recently added skills development center offers a skilled trade as well as vital skills for the manufacturing environment including welding skills, shop safety, work ethic for first time employees, and also other disciplines.
To help keep teens physically active we conduct daily PE classes including a number of sports and seasonal outdoor adventure activities, including hiking (the Appalacian Trail is nearby) and skiing. Weekly social activities also vary and may include bowling, movies, church, visiting museums plus much more.
Wolf Creek Academy wants your child to learn a more productive and positive way of life, improve their academics, and to improve their decision-making abilities.
