Found in the beautiful mountains of western North Carolina, Wolf Creek Academy serves teenage boys and girls on different parts of its campus who have a history of behavior difficulties, damaged family relationships, and other emotional issues.
Wolf Creek specializes in attachment disorders and other serious relational and self-destructive behavioral difficulties in boys and girls. Our staff is highly qualified and trained to deal with and treat various psychological disorders that many other boarding schools that call themselves “therapeutic” are not equipped to handle.
We are a faith-based program devoted to integrity, character, and accountability. All the teens who attend our program can become productive individuals when given guidance and the opportunity to reach their potential.
Wolf Creek Academy gives a nurturing home environment for teen boys and girls who have gone off course. Residents live in a comfortable home run by a husband and wife team of houseparents and residential assistants. Within our family model, teenagers are responsible for daily chores common to home life and learn to respect authority and get along with their peers.
Parent involvement is critical to the effectiveness of our therapeutic boarding school program.
Parents receive weekly verbal and email reports and remain involved in progress of their teen.
For the teen, each day begins with small group counseling sessions regarding anger management, respect for authority, and lots of other topics highly relevant to teens. Weekly individual sessions help residents make progress toward their counseling goals. In addition, we have a substance abuse program to cope with issues related to drug use and other addictive behaviors including eating disorders or cutting.
Our accredited school lets students achieve at their own pace.
Using our fully accredited Christian curriculum, students can complete missing credits in their education and work successfully at their very own pace. Teachers and assistants monitor progress through the workbooks and help students who need extra help with their work. Credits transfer easily to public and private schools, and graduates earn a high school diploma. Our new skills development center instructs students in a skilled trade along with vital skills for the manufacturing environment including welding skills, shop safety, work ethic for first time employees, along with other disciplines.
To keep teens physically active we run daily PE classes including a variety of sports and seasonal outdoor adventure activities, including hiking (the Appalacian Trail is nearby) and skiing. Weekly social activities also vary and include bowling, movies, church, visiting museums and much more.
Wolf Creek Academy wants your teenager to learn a more productive and positive way of life, improve their academics, and to improve their decision-making abilities.
