Wolf Creek Academy gives a nurturing home environment for teen boys and girls who lack direction. Residents live in a comfortable home with a husband and wife team of houseparents and assistants. Inside our family model, teenagers help with daily chores normal for home life and discover how to respect authority and cooperate with their peers.
Keeping Parents Involved in the Program for Restoration for the Whole Family
Parent involvement is critical to the success of our therapeutic boarding school program. Parents receive weekly verbal and email reports and remain involved in progress of their boy or girl.
For the teen, each morning commences with small group counseling sessions about anger management, respect for authority, and many other topics relevant to teens. Weekly individual sessions help residents make progress toward their counseling goals. We also have a substance abuse program to handle issues related to drug abuse or other addictive behaviors like eating disorders or cutting.
Accredited School Lets Students Achieve at Their Own Pace
In our fully accredited Christian curriculum, students can catch up in their education and work successfully at their own rate. Teachers and assistants monitor progress through the courses and help students who require extra assistance with their work. Credits transfer easily to other schools, and graduates earn a high school diploma. Our new skills development center teaches a skilled trade along with vital skills for a manufacturing environment including welding skills, shop safety, work ethic for new employees, and also other disciplines.
To keep teens physically active we conduct daily PE classes including a number of sports and seasonal outdoor adventure activities, including hiking (the Appalacian Trail is nearby) and skiing. Weekly social activities also vary and can include bowling, movies, church, visiting museums and more.
