Believing Teens Can Reach their Full Potential
Situated in the beautiful mountains of western North Carolina, Wolf Creek Academy serves teenage girls and boys on different parts of its campus who have ongoing behavior difficulties, strained family relationships, or any other emotional problems. We are a faith-based program devoted to integrity, character, and personal responsibility. All of the teens who attend our program can learn to be productive members of society when given guidance and the opportunity to reach their potential.
Wolf Creek Academy sets up a protective home environment for teen boys and girls who have lost their way. Residents live in a comfortable home with a married couple team of houseparents and assistants. Within our family model, teens participate in daily chores common to home life and learn how to respect authority and cooperate with their peers.
Keeping Parents Involved in the Program for Restoration for the Entire Family
Parent involvement is crucial to the success of our therapeutic boarding school program. Parents receive weekly verbal and email reports and remain involved in progress of their child.
For the teen, each day starts with small group counseling sessions covering anger management, respect for authority, and lots of other topics highly relevant to teens. Weekly individual sessions help teens make progress toward their behavioral goals. In addition, we have a substance abuse program to deal with issues related to drug and alcohol use or any other addictive behaviors such as eating disorders or cutting.
Accredited School Lets Students Achieve at Their Own Pace
Under our fully accredited Christian curriculum, students can complete missing credits in their education and work successfully at their particular pace. Teachers and assistants monitor progress through the courses and help students who can use extra help with their work. Credits transfer easily to public and private schools, and graduates earn a high school diploma. Our new skills development center offers a skilled trade as well as vital skills for the manufacturing environment including welding skills, shop safety, work ethic for first time employees, along with other disciplines.
To keep teens physically active we conduct daily PE classes including many different sports and seasonal outdoor adventure activities, including hiking (the Appalacian Trail is nearby) and skiing. Weekly social activities also vary and may include bowling, movies, church, visiting museums plus much more.
