Might You Be Considering Therapeutic Boarding Schools near Brooklyn, New York for your Teenage Son or Daughter? Would you Think About One in North Carolina instead?

The directors of Wolf Creek Academy are aware that this is a difficult decision and a rocky period as parents. While you search around Brooklyn along with other places for a residential program, we invite you to look also at Wolf Creek Academy. Although not in Brooklyn, New York, Wolf Creek Academy is dedicated to family restoration and putting teens back on track for a bright future. If our therapeutic boarding school does not meet your needs, we will also help you find one that does.

Believing Teens Can Reach their Full Potential

Located in the beautiful mountains of western North Carolina, Wolf Creek Academy serves teenage boys and girls on different parts of its campus who have ongoing behavior difficulties, damaged family relationships, or other emotional problems. We are a faith-based program emphasizing integrity, character, and accountability. Each of the teens who attend our program can grow into productive individuals when given guidance and the opportunity to reach their potential.

Wolf Creek Academy sets up a nurturing home environment for teen boys and girls who lack direction. Residents live in a comfortable home with a husband and wife team of houseparents and assistants. Within our family model, girls and boys are responsible for daily chores normal for home life and discover how to respect authority and get along with their peers.

Keeping Parents Involved in the Program for Restoration for the Whole Family

Parent involvement is very important to the success of our therapeutic boarding school program. Parents stay up to date with weekly verbal and email reports and remain involved in progress of their boy or girl.

For the teen, every day starts with small group counseling sessions about anger management, respect for authority, and many other topics relevant to teens. Weekly individual sessions help residents make progress toward their counseling goals. In addition, we have a substance abuse program to cope with issues related to drug use or other addictive behaviors for example eating disorders or cutting.

Accredited School Lets Students Find Success at Their Own Pace

Under our fully accredited Christian curriculum, students can fill in gaps in their education and work successfully at their particular speed. Teachers and assistants monitor progress through the workbooks and help students who can use extra input for their work. Credits transfer easily to other schools, and those who complete the curriculum earn a high school diploma. Our recently added skills development center instructs students in a skilled trade along with vital skills for a manufacturing environment including welding skills, shop safety, work ethic for first time employees, along with other disciplines.

To help keep teens physically active we run daily PE classes including various sports and seasonal outdoor adventure activities, including hiking (the Appalacian Trail is nearby) and skiing. Weekly social activities also vary and can include bowling, movies, church, visiting museums plus more.

Wolf Creek Academy wants your teen to mature into all that he or she can be. We provide a loving, home-like environment with professional counseling to show teens how to  get back on track. Though we are not in Brooklyn,New York , the North Carolina mountains are a beautiful setting for restoration and growth. Brooklyn is the most populous of New York City’s five boroughs, with approximately 2.5 million residents, and the second-largest in area. Since 1896, Brooklyn has had the same boundaries as Kings County, which is now the most populous county in New York State and the second-most densely populated county in the United States, after New York County (Manhattan). Brooklyn was an independent city until it was annexed by New York City in 1898. It continues to maintain a distinct culture. Many Brooklyn neighborhoods are ethnic enclaves where particular ethnic groups and cultures predominate.

Brooklyn’s official motto is Eendraght Maeckt Maght. Written in the (early modern spelling of the) Dutch language, it is inspired by the motto of the United Dutch Provinces and translated “Unity makes strength”. The motto is displayed on the borough seal and flag, which also feature a young robed woman bearing fasces, a traditional emblem of republicanism. Brooklyn’s official colors are blue and gold.
