Wolf Creek Academy provides a safe home environment for teen boys and girls who lack direction. Residents live in a comfortable home with a married couple team of houseparents and assistants. Inside our family model, boys and girls participate in daily chores common to home life and learn to respect authority and get along with their peers.
Keeping Parents Involved with the Program for Restoration for the Entire Family
Parent involvement is very important to the success of our therapeutic boarding school program. Parents receive weekly verbal and email reports and participate in the progress of their teen.
For the teen, each morning starts with small group counseling sessions related to anger management, respect for authority, and lots of other topics highly relevant to teens. Weekly individual sessions help teens make progress toward their behavioral goals. In addition, we have a substance abuse program to handle issues related to drug abuse or other addictive behaviors like eating disorders or cutting.
Accredited School Lets Students Achieve at Their Own Pace
Using our fully accredited Christian curriculum, students can fill in gaps in their education and work successfully at their unique rate. Teachers and assistants monitor progress through the classwork and help students who require extra help with their work. Credits transfer easily to other schools, and those who complete the curriculum earn a high school diploma. Our recently added skills development center offers a skilled trade along with vital skills for a manufacturing environment including welding skills, shop safety, work ethic for new employees, and also other disciplines.
To help keep teens physically active we conduct daily PE classes including a variety of sports and seasonal outdoor adventure activities, including hiking (the Appalacian Trail is nearby) and skiing.
