Helping Teens Reach their Full Potential
Situated in the beautiful mountains of western North Carolina, Wolf Creek Academy serves teenage girls and boys on different parts of its campus who have a history of behavior difficulties, broken family relationships, or other emotional issues. We are a faith-based program focused on integrity, character, and accountability. Every one of the teens who attend our program can learn to be productive individuals when given guidance and an opportunity to reach their potential.
Wolf Creek Academy provides a nurturing home environment for teen boys and girls who have gone off course. Residents live in a comfortable home run by a husband and wife team of houseparents and assistants. In our family model, teens participate in daily chores typical of home life and discover how to respect authority and get along with their peers.
For the teen, every day commences with small group counseling sessions about anger management, respect for authority, and several other topics relevant to teens. Weekly individual sessions help residents make progress toward their counseling goals. In addition, we have a substance abuse program to cope with issues related to drug use or other addictive behaviors like eating disorders or cutting.
The Wolf Creek Accredited School Lets Students Find Success at Their Own Pace
Using our fully accredited Christian curriculum, students can fill in gaps in their education and work successfully at their unique speed. Teachers and assistants monitor progress through the courses and help students who require extra assistance with their work. Credits transfer easily to other schools, and graduates earn a high school diploma. Our new skills development center teaches a skilled trade as well as vital skills for a manufacturing environment including welding skills, shop safety, work ethic for first time employees, and also other disciplines.
To help keep teens physically active we hold daily PE classes including a number of sports and seasonal outdoor adventure activities, including hiking (the Appalacian Trail is nearby) and skiing.
