Believing Teens Can Reach their Full Potential
Situated in the beautiful mountains of western North Carolina, Wolf Creek Academy serves teenage boys and girls on different parts of its campus who have a history of behavior difficulties, broken family relationships, or any other emotional problems. We are a faith-based program devoted to integrity, character, and personal responsibility. All the teens who attend our program can learn to be productive citizens when given guidance and an opportunity to reach their potential.
Wolf Creek Academy sets up a nurturing home environment for teen boys and girls who have gone off course. Residents live in a comfortable home run by a husband and wife team of houseparents and assistants. Within our family model, girls and boys assist with daily chores normal for home life and learn how to respect authority and cooperate with their peers.
For the teen, each morning commences with small group counseling sessions about anger management, respect for authority, and a lot of other topics of importance to teens. Weekly individual sessions help teens make progress toward their behavioral goals. In addition, we have a substance abuse program to manage issues related to drug and alcohol use or any other addictive behaviors such as eating disorders or cutting.
The Wolf Creek Accredited School Lets Students Achieve at Their Own Pace
Using our fully accredited Christian curriculum, students can fill in gaps in their education and work successfully at their own speed. Teachers and assistants monitor progress through the material and help students who can use extra assistance with their work. Credits transfer easily to other schools, and those who complete the curriculum earn a high school diploma. Our new skills development center teaches a skilled trade as well as vital skills for any manufacturing environment including welding skills, shop safety, work ethic for brand new employees, as well as other disciplines.
To keep teens physically active we run daily PE classes including a number of sports and seasonal outdoor adventure activities, including hiking (the Appalacian Trail is nearby) and skiing. Weekly social activities also vary and include bowling, movies, church, visiting museums and more.
Wolf Creek Academy wants your son or daughter to mature into all that he or she can be. We provide a loving, home-like environment with professional counseling to show teens how to get back on track. Though we are not located in Massachusetts , the North Carolina mountains give a beautiful setting for restoration and growth.
