Helping Teens Reach their Full Potential
Located in the beautiful mountains of western North Carolina, Wolf Creek Academy serves teenage girls and boys on different parts of its campus who have a history of behavior difficulties, damaged family relationships, or other emotional problems. We are a faith-based program devoted to integrity, character, and personal responsibility. Each of the teens who attend our program can grow into productive individuals when given guidance and an opportunity to reach their potential.
Wolf Creek Academy offers a loving home environment for teen boys and girls who have gone off course. Residents live in a comfortable home run by a married couple team of houseparents and assistants. In our family model, boys and girls assist with daily chores typical of home life and learn to respect authority and interact with their peers.
For the teen, each day begins with small group counseling sessions related to anger management, respect for authority, and a lot of other topics relevant to teens. Weekly individual sessions help teens make progress toward their behavioral goals. We also have a substance abuse program to deal with issues related to drug use or other addictive behaviors like eating disorders or cutting.
The Wolf Creek Accredited School Lets Students Achieve at Their Own Pace
In our fully accredited Christian curriculum, students can catch up in their education and work successfully at their own speed. Teachers and assistants monitor progress through the workbooks and help students who need extra help with their work. Credits transfer easily to public and private schools, and those who complete the curriculum earn a high school diploma. Our new skills development center offers a skilled trade along with vital skills for any manufacturing environment including welding skills, shop safety, work ethic for brand new employees, and also other disciplines.
To keep teens physically active we hold daily PE classes including a number of sports and seasonal outdoor adventure activities, including hiking (the Appalacian Trail is nearby) and skiing. Weekly social activities also vary and include bowling, movies, church, visiting museums and more.
