Wolf Creek specializes in attachment disorders and other serious relational and self-destructive behavioral difficulties in boys and girls. Our staff is highly qualified and trained to deal with and treat various psychological disorders that many other boarding schools that call themselves “therapeutic” are not equipped to handle.
We are a faith-based program emphasizing integrity, character, and accountability. All of the teens who attend our program can be productive citizens when given guidance and an opportunity to reach their potential.
Wolf Creek Academy gives a loving home environment for teen boys and girls who have lost their way. Residents live in a comfortable home run by a husband and wife team of houseparents and residential assistants. Inside our family model, teens help with daily chores common to home life and discover how to respect authority and relate well with their peers.
Parent involvement is crucial to the effectiveness of our therapeutic boarding school program.
Parents receive weekly verbal and email reports and remain involved in progress of their teen.
For the teen, each morning begins with small group counseling sessions about anger management, respect for authority, and a lot of other topics relevant to teens. Weekly individual sessions help teens make progress toward their behavioral goals. In addition, we have a special therapy program to cope with issues related to drug use or other addictive behaviors including eating disorders or cutting.
Our accredited school lets students achieve at their own pace.
Using our fully accredited Christian curriculum, students can fill in gaps in their education and work successfully at their own pace. Teachers and assistants monitor progress through the workbooks and help students who can use extra help with their work. Credits transfer easily to other schools, and graduates earn a high school diploma. Our new skills development center teaches a skilled trade as well as vital skills for a manufacturing environment, including welding skills, shop safety, work ethic for brand new employees, and other disciplines.
To keep teens physically active, we run daily PE classes, including various sports and seasonal outdoor adventure activities, including hiking (the Appalachian Trail is nearby) and skiing. Weekly social activities also vary and include bowling, movies, church, visiting museums, plus more.
