Wolf Creek specializes in attachment disorders and other serious relational and self-destructive behavioral difficulties in boys and girls. Our staff is highly qualified and trained to deal with and treat various psychological disorders that many other boarding schools that call themselves “therapeutic” are not equipped to handle.
We are a faith-based program focused on integrity, character, and accountability. Each of the teens who attend our program can be productive individuals when given guidance and a chance to reach their potential.
Wolf Creek Academy provides a loving home environment for teen boys and girls who have gone off course. Residents live in a comfortable home run by a husband and wife team of houseparents and residential assistants. Inside our family model, girls and boys assist with daily chores common to home life and discover how to respect authority and get along with their peers.
Parent involvement is critical to the effectiveness of our therapeutic boarding school program.
Parents stay up to date with weekly verbal and email reports and remain involved in progress of their child.
For the teen, each day starts with small group counseling sessions about anger management, respect for authority, and several other topics of importance to teens. Weekly individual sessions help residents make progress toward their therapeutic goals. Our program also includes a risky activities program to deal with issues related to drug and alcohol use and other addictive behaviors such as eating disorders or cutting.
Our accredited school lets students find success at their own pace.
In our fully accredited Christian curriculum, students can fill in gaps in their education and work successfully at their very own speed. Teachers and assistants monitor progress through the courses and help students who require extra assistance with their work. Credits transfer easily to public and private schools, and those who complete the curriculum earn a high school diploma. Our recently added skills development center instructs students in a skilled trade along with vital skills for the manufacturing environment, including welding skills, shop safety, work ethic for new employees, and other disciplines.
To keep teens physically active we conduct daily PE classes including a number of sports and seasonal outdoor adventure activities, including hiking (the Appalachian Trail is nearby) and skiing. Every week, social activities also vary and may include bowling, movies, church, visiting museums and more.
