Wolf Creek specializes in attachment disorders and other serious relational and self-destructive behavioral difficulties in boys and girls. Our staff is highly qualified and trained to deal with and treat various psychological disorders that many other boarding schools that call themselves “therapeutic” are not equipped to handle.
We are a faith-based program devoted to integrity, character, and accountability. All of the teens who attend our program can become productive citizens when given guidance and the opportunity to reach their potential.
Wolf Creek Academy sets up a nurturing home environment for teen boys and girls who have lost their way. Residents live in a comfortable home with a husband and wife team of houseparents and residential assistants. Inside our family model, boys and girls assist with daily chores normal for home life and learn to respect authority and get along with their peers.
Parent involvement is critical to the success of our therapeutic boarding school program.
Parents receive weekly verbal and email reports and remain involved in progress of their boy or girl.
For the teen, every day starts off with small group counseling sessions regarding anger management, respect for authority, and many other topics highly relevant to teens. Weekly individual sessions help teens make progress toward their therapeutic goals. Our program also includes a risky activities program to deal with issues related to drug abuse or other addictive behaviors for example, eating disorders or cutting.
Our accredited school lets students achieve at their own pace.
Using our fully accredited Christian curriculum, students can fill in gaps in their education and work successfully at their own pace. Teachers and assistants monitor progress through the workbooks and help students who need extra assistance with their work. Credits transfer easily to public and private schools, and graduates earn a high school diploma. Our new skills development center offers a skilled trade along with vital skills for the manufacturing environment, including welding skills, shop safety, work ethic for first time employees, and also other disciplines.
To help keep teens physically active we conduct daily PE classes including many different sports and seasonal outdoor adventure activities, including hiking (the Appalachian Trail is nearby) and skiing. More about therapeutic boarding schools near the state of Virginia: Arlington County is a county in the Commonwealth of Virginia. The land that became Arlington was originally donated by Virginia to the United States government to form part of the new federal capital district. On February 27, 1801, the United States Congress organized the area as a subdivision of the District of Columbia named Alexandria County. Due to issues involving Congressional representation, the abolition of slavery, and economic decline, Congress returned Alexandria to the Commonwealth of Virginia in 1846. The state legislature changed the county’s name to Arlington in 1920 to avoid confusion with the adjacent City of Alexandria.
