Found in the beautiful mountains of western North Carolina, Wolf Creek Academy serves teenage girls and boys on different parts of its campus who have a history of behavior difficulties, strained family relationships, or any other emotional problems.
Wolf Creek specializes in attachment disorders and other serious relational and self-destructive behavioral difficulties in boys and girls. Our staff is highly qualified and trained to deal with and treat various psychological disorders that many other boarding schools that call themselves “therapeutic” are not equipped to handle.
We are a faith-based program focused on integrity, character, and accountability. All the teens who attend our program can learn to be productive members of society when given guidance and an opportunity to reach their potential.
Wolf Creek Academy offers a safe home environment for teen boys and girls who lack direction. Residents live in a comfortable home with a husband and wife team of houseparents and residential assistants. In this family model, teenagers help with daily chores normal for home life and learn to respect authority and cooperate with their peers.
Parent involvement is very important to the success of our therapeutic boarding school program.
Parents receive weekly verbal and email reports and participate in the progress of their boy or girl.
For the teen, each day starts with small group counseling sessions regarding anger management, respect for authority, and several other topics relevant to teens. Weekly individual sessions help teens make progress toward their therapeutic goals. In addition, we have a special therapy program to handle issues related to drug use or any other addictive behaviors such as eating disorders or cutting.
Our accredited school lets students succeed at their own pace.
In our fully accredited Christian curriculum, students can complete missing credits in their education and work successfully at their particular pace. Teachers and assistants monitor progress through the material and help students who need extra help with their work. Credits transfer easily to public and private schools, and those who complete the curriculum earn a high school diploma. Our recently added skills development center offers a skilled trade as well as vital skills for any manufacturing environment, including welding skills, shop safety, work ethic for brand new employees, along with other disciplines.
To help keep teens physically active we conduct daily PE classes, including various sports and seasonal outdoor adventure activities, including hiking (the Appalachian Trail is nearby) and skiing. Every week, social activities also vary and may include bowling, movies, church, visiting museums and more.
Wolf Creek Academy wants your teenager to learn a more productive and positive way of life, improve their academics, and improve their decision-making abilities.
