Wolf Creek specializes in attachment disorders and other serious relational and self-destructive behavioral difficulties in boys and girls. Our staff is highly qualified and trained to deal with and treat various psychological disorders that many other boarding schools that call themselves “therapeutic” are not equipped to handle.
We are a faith-based program devoted to integrity, character, and personal responsibility. All the teens who attend our program can become productive citizens when given guidance and the opportunity to reach their potential.
Wolf Creek Academy offers a loving home environment for teen boys and girls who have gone off course. Residents live in a comfortable home run by a husband and wife team of houseparents and residential assistants. Inside our family model, girls and boys participate in daily chores common to home life and learn how to respect authority and interact with their peers.
Parent involvement is very important to the success of our therapeutic boarding school program.
Parents stay informed with weekly verbal and email reports and participate in the progress of their boy or girl.
For the teen, every day starts with small group counseling sessions regarding anger management, respect for authority, and several other topics relevant to teens. Weekly individual sessions help teens make progress toward their counseling goals. In addition, we have a special therapy program to cope with issues related to drug use or other addictive behaviors including eating disorders or cutting.
Our accredited school lets students find success at their own pace.
Using our fully accredited Christian curriculum, students can complete missing credits in their education and work successfully at their unique pace. Teachers and assistants monitor progress through the courses and help students who require extra assistance with their work. Credits transfer easily to public and private schools, and those who complete the curriculum earn a high school diploma. Our recently added skills development center instructs students in a skilled trade as well as vital skills for a manufacturing environment, including welding skills, shop safety, work ethic for brand new employees, along with other disciplines.
To keep teens physically active we hold daily PE classes including a variety of sports and seasonal outdoor adventure activities, including hiking (the Appalachian Trail is nearby) and skiing. Every week, social activities also vary and may include bowling, movies, church, visiting museums and much more.
