Wolf Creek specializes in attachment disorders and other serious relational and self-destructive behavioral difficulties in boys and girls. Our staff is highly qualified and trained to deal with and treat various psychological disorders that many other boarding schools that call themselves “therapeutic” are not equipped to handle.
We are a faith-based program emphasizing integrity, character, and personal responsibility. All of the teens who attend our program can become productive members of society when given guidance and the opportunity to reach their potential.
Wolf Creek Academy offers a protective home environment for teen boys and girls who have lost their way. Residents live in a comfortable home with a married couple team of houseparents and residential assistants. In this family model, teenagers are responsible for daily chores normal for home life and learn to respect authority and interact with their peers.
Parent involvement is very important to the effectiveness of our therapeutic boarding school program.
Parents stay up to date with weekly verbal and email reports and participate in the progress of their child.
For the teen, every day begins with small group counseling sessions covering anger management, respect for authority, and several other topics of importance to teens. Weekly individual sessions help residents make progress toward their behavioral goals. In addition, we have a special therapy program to manage issues related to drug and alcohol use or any other addictive behaviors such as eating disorders or cutting.
Our accredited school lets students succeed at their own pace.
With our fully accredited Christian curriculum, students can catch up in their education and work successfully at their very own rate. Teachers and assistants monitor progress through the courses and help students who can use extra input for their work. Credits transfer easily to other schools, and graduates earn a high school diploma. Our recently added skills development center instructs students in a skilled trade along with vital skills for the manufacturing environment, including welding skills, shop safety, work ethic for brand new employees, and other disciplines.
To keep teens physically active we hold daily PE classes including a variety of sports and seasonal outdoor adventure activities, including hiking (the Appalachian Trail is nearby) and skiing. Every week, social activities also vary and include bowling, movies, church, visiting museums and much more.
