Located in the beautiful mountains of western North Carolina, Wolf Creek Academy serves teenage boys and girls on different parts of its campus who have a history of behavior difficulties, broken family relationships, or other emotional issues.
Wolf Creek specializes in attachment disorders and other serious relational and self-destructive behavioral difficulties in boys and girls.
Our staff is highly qualified and trained to deal with and treat various psychological disorders that many other boarding schools that call themselves “therapeutic” are not equipped to handle. We are a faith-based program devoted to integrity, character, and accountability. All of the teens who attend our program can grow into productive citizens when given guidance and the opportunity to reach their potential. Wolf Creek Academy provides a nurturing home environment for teen boys and girls who have lost their way. Residents live in a comfortable home with a husband and wife team of house parents and residential assistants. Inside our family model, girls and boys assist with daily chores typical of home life and learn how to respect authority and get along with their peers.
Parent involvement is important to the success of our therapeutic boarding school program. 
Parents stay up to date with weekly verbal and email reports and participate in their teens’ progress. Every day, the teen commences with small group counseling sessions about anger management, respect for authority, and several other topics relevant to teens. Weekly individual sessions help residents make progress toward their counseling goals. We also have a risky activities program to manage issues related to drug use or other addictive behaviors, for example, eating disorders or cutting.
Our accredited school lets students achieve at their own pace.
Using our fully accredited Christian curriculum, students can fill in gaps in their education and work successfully at their particular pace. Teachers and assistants monitor progress through the workbooks and help students who can use extra help with their work. Credits transfer easily to other schools, and graduates earn a high school diploma. Our recently added skills development center offers a skilled trade and vital skills for a manufacturing environment, including welding skills, shop safety, work ethic for new employees, and other disciplines. To help keep teens physically active, we run daily PE classes, including various sports and seasonal outdoor adventure activities, including hiking (the Appalachian Trail is nearby) and skiing. Weekly social activities also vary and include bowling, movies, church, visiting museums, plus more.
