Wolf Creek specializes in attachment disorders and other serious relational and self-destructive behavioral difficulties in boys and girls. Our staff is highly qualified and trained to deal with and treat various psychological disorders that many other boarding schools that call themselves “therapeutic” are not equipped to handle.
We are a faith-based program emphasizing integrity, character, and accountability. All of the teens who attend our program can grow into productive members of society when given guidance and an opportunity to reach their potential.
Wolf Creek Academy provides a protective home environment for teen boys and girls who have lost their way. Residents live in a comfortable home run by a married couple team of houseparents and residential assistants. Within our family model, teenagers are responsible for daily chores common to home life and learn to respect authority and cooperate with their peers.
Parent involvement is important to the success of our therapeutic boarding school program.
Parents stay informed with weekly verbal and email reports and participate in the progress of their teen.
For the teen, every day begins with small group counseling sessions regarding anger management, respect for authority, and lots of other topics relevant to teens. Weekly individual sessions help teens make progress toward their therapeutic goals. Our program also includes a risky activities program to manage issues related to drug abuse and other addictive behaviors including eating disorders or cutting.
Our accredited school lets students succeed at their own pace.
Using our fully accredited Christian curriculum, students can fill in gaps in their education and work successfully at their own rate. Teachers and assistants monitor progress through the courses and help students who can use extra assistance with their work. Credits transfer easily to public and private schools, and those who complete the curriculum earn a high school diploma. Our new skills development center instructs students in a skilled trade along with vital skills for a manufacturing environment, including welding skills, shop safety, work ethic for brand new employees, along with other disciplines.
To help keep teens physically active we conduct daily PE classes including a variety of sports and seasonal outdoor adventure activities, including hiking (the Appalachian Trail is nearby) and skiing. Weekly social activities also vary and can include bowling, movies, church, visiting museums and much more.
