Perfectly situated in the beautiful mountains of western North Carolina, Wolf Creek Academy serves teenage girls and boys on different parts of its campus who have ongoing behavior difficulties, broken family relationships, or other emotional issues.
Wolf Creek specializes in attachment disorders and other serious relational and self-destructive behavioral difficulties in boys and girls. Our staff is highly qualified and trained to deal with and treat various psychological disorders that many other boarding schools that call themselves “therapeutic” are not equipped to handle.
We are a faith-based program dedicated to integrity, character, and accountability. All the teens who attend our program can become productive members of society when given guidance and an opportunity to reach their potential.
Wolf Creek Academy offers a safe home environment for teen boys and girls who lack direction. Residents live in a comfortable home run by a married couple team of houseparents and residential assistants. Within our family model, teenagers are responsible for daily chores common to home life and discover how to respect authority and cooperate with their peers.
Parent involvement is important to the success of our therapeutic boarding school program.
Parents receive weekly verbal and email reports and remain involved in progress of their child.
For the teen, each morning begins with small group counseling sessions about anger management, respect for authority, and a lot of other topics relevant to teens. Weekly individual sessions help teens make progress toward their counseling goals. We also have a risky activities program to manage issues related to drug and alcohol use or other addictive behaviors such as eating disorders or cutting.
Our accredited school lets students find success at their own pace.
Under our fully accredited Christian curriculum, students can complete missing credits in their education and work successfully at their unique speed. Teachers and assistants monitor progress through the courses and help students who require extra help with their work. Credits transfer easily to other schools, and graduates earn a high school diploma. Our new skills development center offers a skilled trade as well as vital skills for any manufacturing environment, including welding skills, shop safety, work ethic for new employees, as well as other disciplines.
To keep teens physically active we hold daily PE classes including many different sports and seasonal outdoor adventure activities, including hiking (the Appalachian Trail is nearby) and skiing. Weekly social activities also vary and include bowling, movies, church, visiting museums and much more.
