Located in the beautiful mountains of western North Carolina, Wolf Creek Academy serves teenage boys and girls on different parts of its campus who have a record of behavior difficulties, damaged family relationships, and other emotional issues.
Wolf Creek specializes in attachment disorders and other serious relational and self-destructive behavioral difficulties in boys and girls. Our staff is highly qualified and trained to deal with and treat various psychological disorders that many other boarding schools that call themselves “therapeutic” are not equipped to handle.
We are a faith-based program dedicated to integrity, character, and accountability. All the teens who attend our program can become productive individuals when given guidance and the opportunity to reach their potential.
Wolf Creek Academy gives a protective home environment for teen boys and girls who have lost their way. Residents live in a comfortable home run by a married couple team of houseparents and residential assistants. In this family model, boys and girls assist with daily chores common to home life and learn to respect authority and interact with their peers.
Parent involvement is very important to the effectiveness of our therapeutic boarding school program.
Parents stay up to date with weekly verbal and email reports and remain involved in progress of their teen.
For the teen, each day starts with small group counseling sessions related to anger management, respect for authority, and many other topics highly relevant to teens. Weekly individual sessions help residents make progress toward their counseling goals. In addition, we have a special therapy program to cope with issues related to drug and alcohol use and other addictive behaviors including eating disorders or cutting.
Our accredited school lets students succeed at their own pace.
Under our fully accredited Christian curriculum, students can complete missing credits in their education and work successfully at their unique speed. Teachers and assistants monitor progress through the workbooks and help students who can use extra help with their work. Credits transfer easily to other schools, and those who complete the curriculum earn a high school diploma. Our recently added skills development center offers a skilled trade as well as vital skills for a manufacturing environment, including welding skills, shop safety, work ethic for brand new employees, as well as other disciplines.
To help keep teens physically active we hold daily PE classes including a number of sports and seasonal outdoor adventure activities, including hiking (the Appalachian Trail is nearby) and skiing. Every week, social activities also vary and include bowling, movies, church, visiting museums and much more.
Wolf Creek Academy wants your son or daughter to learn a more productive and positive way of life, improve their academics, and improve their decision-making abilities.
