While you search around Hartsville for a residential program for troubled teens, we invite you to look also at Wolf Creek Academy. Although not in Hartsville, South Carolina, Wolf Creek Academy is devoted to family restoration and putting teens back on the right path for a bright future.
Situated in the beautiful mountains of western North Carolina, Wolf Creek Academy serves teenage girls and boys on different parts of its campus who have a record of behavior difficulties, broken family relationships, or other emotional problems.
Wolf Creek specializes in attachment disorders and other serious relational and self-destructive behavioral difficulties in boys and girls. Our staff is highly qualified and trained to deal with and treat various psychological disorders that many other boarding schools that call themselves “therapeutic” are not equipped to handle.
We are a faith-based program emphasizing integrity, character, and personal responsibility. All the teens who attend our program can learn to be productive citizens when given guidance and a chance to reach their potential.
Wolf Creek Academy sets up a loving home environment for teen boys and girls who have gone off course. Residents live in a comfortable home run by a married couple team of houseparents and residential assistants. Inside our family model, teens are responsible for daily chores typical of home life and discover how to respect authority and interact with their peers.
Parent involvement is critical to the success of our therapeutic boarding school program.
Parents stay up to date with weekly verbal and email reports and play a role in the progress of their son or daughter.
For the teen, every day starts with small group counseling sessions related to anger management, respect for authority, and a lot of other topics relevant to teens. Weekly individual sessions help residents make progress toward their behavioral goals. We also have a risky activities program to handle issues related to drug and alcohol use or other addictive behaviors such as eating disorders or cutting.
Our accredited school lets students succeed at their own pace.
Using our fully accredited Christian curriculum, students can complete missing credits in their education and work successfully at their very own pace. Teachers and assistants monitor progress through the workbooks and help students who need extra assistance with their work. Credits transfer easily to other schools, and those who complete the curriculum earn a high school diploma. Our recently added skills development center instructs students in a skilled trade as well as vital skills for a manufacturing environment, including welding skills, shop safety, work ethic for first time employees, as well as other disciplines.
To help keep teens physically active we conduct daily PE classes, including various sports and seasonal outdoor adventure activities, including hiking (the Appalachian Trail is nearby) and skiing. Weekly social activities also vary and may include bowling, movies, church, visiting museums plus much more.
Wolf Creek Academy wants your son or daughter to learn a more productive and positive way of life, improve their academics, and improve their decision-making abilities.
