Christian boarding schools

Located in the beautiful mountains of western North Carolina, Wolf Creek Academy serves teenage boys and girls on different parts of its campus who have ongoing behavior difficulties, damaged family relationships, or other emotional issues.

Wolf Creek specializes in attachment disorders and other serious relational and self-destructive behavioral difficulties in boys and girls.  Our staff is highly qualified and trained to deal with and treat various psychological disorders that many other boarding schools that call themselves “therapeutic” are not equipped to handle.

We are a faith-based program emphasizing integrity, character, and accountability. All of the teens who attend our program can learn to be productive members of society when given guidance and the opportunity to reach their potential.

Wolf Creek Academy gives a nurturing home environment for teen boys and girls who lack direction. Residents live in a comfortable home run by a husband and wife team of houseparents and residential assistants. In this family model, teens participate in daily chores common to home life and discover how to respect authority and get along with their peers.

Parents stay informed with weekly verbal and email reports and participate in the progress of their son or daughter.

For the teen, each day begins with small group counseling sessions regarding anger management, respect for authority, and lots of other topics of importance to teens. Weekly individual sessions help residents make progress toward their behavioral goals. Our program also includes a risky activities program to cope with issues related to drug and alcohol use or other addictive behaviors including eating disorders or cutting.

Our accredited school lets students succeed at their own pace.

With our fully accredited Christian curriculum, students can complete missing credits in their education and work successfully at their particular speed. Teachers and assistants monitor progress through the material and help students who need extra assistance with their work. Credits transfer easily to public and private schools, and those who complete the curriculum earn a high school diploma. Our recently added skills development center instructs students in a skilled trade along with vital skills for a manufacturing environment, including welding skills, shop safety, work ethic for brand new employees, and other disciplines.

It is located approximately Convert southwest of Miami, and Convert northwest of Key Largo. The name originates from when the Florida East Coast Railway extension to Key West was being built. The rail line was passing through an area opened up for homesteading, and as the construction camp at the end of the line did not have a particular name, construction materials and supplies for the workers were consigned to “Homestead Country”, shortened to “Homestead” by the engineers who mapped the area. The population was 31,909 at the 2000 census.
