Located in the beautiful mountains of western North Carolina, Wolf Creek Academy serves teenage girls and boys on different parts of its campus who have a record of behavior difficulties, strained family relationships, or other emotional problems.
Wolf Creek specializes in attachment disorders and other serious relational and self-destructive behavioral difficulties in boys and girls. Our staff is highly qualified and trained to deal with and treat various psychological disorders that many other boarding schools that call themselves “therapeutic” are not equipped to handle.
We are a faith-based program emphasizing integrity, character, and personal responsibility. All of the teens who attend our program can grow into productive individuals when given guidance and the opportunity to reach their potential.
Wolf Creek Academy gives a protective home environment for teen boys and girls who have lost their way. Residents live in a comfortable home run by a married couple team of houseparents and residential assistants. In our family model, teenagers participate in daily chores common to home life and learn how to respect authority and interact with their peers.
Parent involvement is very important to the effectiveness of our therapeutic boarding school program.
Parents stay up to date with weekly verbal and email reports and play a role in the progress of their child.
For the teen, every day commences with small group counseling sessions about anger management, respect for authority, and several other topics of importance to teens. Weekly individual sessions help residents make progress toward their counseling goals. We also have a risky activities program to handle issues related to drug abuse or other addictive behaviors like eating disorders or cutting.
Our accredited school lets students succeed at their own pace.
Under our fully accredited Christian curriculum, students can complete missing credits in their education and work successfully at their unique rate. Teachers and assistants monitor progress through the material and help students who can use extra assistance with their work. Credits transfer easily to public and private schools, and those who complete the curriculum earn a high school diploma. Our recently added skills development center instructs students in a skilled trade as well as vital skills for the manufacturing environment, including welding skills, shop safety, work ethic for first time employees, and also other disciplines.
To keep teens physically active we hold daily PE classes, including various sports and seasonal outdoor adventure activities, including hiking (the Appalachian Trail is nearby) and skiing. Every week, social activities also vary and can include bowling, movies, church, visiting museums, plus more.
Wolf Creek Academy wants your teenager to learn a more productive and positive way of life, improve their academics, and improve their decision-making abilities.
