Perfectly situated in the beautiful mountains of western North Carolina, Wolf Creek Academy serves teenage girls and boys on different parts of its campus who have a record of behavior difficulties, damaged family relationships, or any other emotional issues.
Wolf Creek specializes in attachment disorders and other serious relational and self-destructive behavioral difficulties in boys and girls. Our staff is highly qualified and trained to deal with and treat various psychological disorders that many other boarding schools that call themselves “therapeutic” are not equipped to handle.
We are a faith-based program focused on integrity, character, and accountability. Each of the teens who attend our program can be productive members of society when given guidance and a chance to reach their potential.
Wolf Creek Academy provides a nurturing home environment for teen boys and girls who have gone off course. Residents live in a comfortable home run by a married couple team of houseparents and residential assistants. Inside our family model, teenagers are responsible for daily chores common to home life and learn how to respect authority and interact with their peers.
Parent involvement is crucial to the success of our therapeutic boarding school program.
Parents stay up to date with weekly verbal and email reports and remain involved in progress of their child.
For the teen, every day commences with small group counseling sessions covering anger management, respect for authority, and lots of other topics highly relevant to teens. Weekly individual sessions help residents make progress toward their counseling goals. Our program also includes a risky activities program to manage issues related to drug abuse or any other addictive behaviors for example, eating disorders or cutting.
Our accredited school lets students succeed at their own pace.
Using our fully accredited Christian curriculum, students can complete missing credits in their education and work successfully at their own pace. Teachers and assistants monitor progress through the workbooks and help students who can use extra input for their work. Credits transfer easily to public and private schools, and those who complete the curriculum earn a high school diploma. Our recently added skills development center teaches a skilled trade as well as vital skills for the manufacturing environment, including welding skills, shop safety, work ethic for brand new employees, along with other disciplines.
To keep teens physically active, we run daily PE classes including a number of sports and seasonal outdoor adventure activities, including hiking (the Appalachian Trail is nearby) and skiing. Every week, social activities also vary and may include bowling, movies, church, visiting museums and much more.
Wolf Creek Academy wants your son or daughter to learn a more productive and positive way of life, improve their academics, and improve their decision-making abilities.
