Located in the beautiful mountains of western North Carolina, Wolf Creek Academy serves teenage girls and boys on different parts of its campus who have a record of behavior difficulties, strained family relationships, or any other emotional issues.
Wolf Creek specializes in attachment disorders and other serious relational and self-destructive behavioral difficulties in boys and girls. Our staff is highly qualified and trained to deal with and treat various psychological disorders that many other boarding schools that call themselves “therapeutic” are not equipped to handle.
We are a faith-based program devoted to integrity, character, and personal responsibility. All the teens who attend our program can be productive citizens when given guidance and a chance to reach their potential.
Wolf Creek Academy sets up a nurturing home environment for teen boys and girls who have lost their way. Residents live in a comfortable home with a husband and wife team of houseparents and residential assistants. Within our family model, teens help with daily chores typical of home life and learn how to respect authority and get along with their peers.
Parent involvement is crucial to the effectiveness of our therapeutic boarding school program.
Parents receive weekly verbal and email reports and remain involved in progress of their boy or girl.
For the teen, each morning begins with small group counseling sessions about anger management, respect for authority, and a lot of other topics of importance to teens. Weekly individual sessions help residents make progress toward their counseling goals. We also have a risky activities program to manage issues related to drug use or any other addictive behaviors such as eating disorders or cutting.
Our accredited school lets students achieve at their own pace.
Using our fully accredited Christian curriculum, students can fill in gaps in their education and work successfully at their unique pace. Teachers and assistants monitor progress through the workbooks and help students who need extra help with their work. Credits transfer easily to public and private schools, and those who complete the curriculum earn a high school diploma. Our recently added skills development center teaches a skilled trade as well as vital skills for a manufacturing environment, including welding skills, shop safety, work ethic for brand new employees, as well as other disciplines.
To keep teens physically active we hold daily PE classes including a variety of sports and seasonal outdoor adventure activities, including hiking (the Appalachian Trail is nearby) and skiing. Weekly social activities also vary and include bowling, movies, church, visiting museums plus much more.
Wolf Creek Academy wants your son or daughter to learn a more productive and positive way of life, improve their academics, and improve their decision-making abilities.
