Wolf Creek specializes in attachment disorders and other serious relational and self-destructive behavioral difficulties in boys and girls. Our staff is highly qualified and trained to deal with and treat various psychological disorders that many other boarding schools that call themselves “therapeutic” are not equipped to handle.
We are a faith-based program dedicated to integrity, character, and accountability. All of the teens who attend our program can grow into productive members of society when given guidance and the opportunity to reach their potential.
Wolf Creek Academy sets up a loving home environment for teen boys and girls who have lost their way. Residents live in a comfortable home run by a married couple team of houseparents and residential assistants. In our family model, boys and girls assist with daily chores common to home life and learn how to respect authority and get along with their peers.
Parent involvement is critical to the success of our therapeutic boarding school program.
Parents stay up to date with weekly verbal and email reports and play a role in the progress of their son or daughter.
For the teen, each morning begins with small group counseling sessions regarding anger management, respect for authority, and lots of other topics highly relevant to teens. Weekly individual sessions help residents make progress toward their behavioral goals. In addition, we have a special therapy program to manage issues related to drug and alcohol use and other addictive behaviors including eating disorders or cutting.
Our accredited school lets students succeed at their own pace.
In our fully accredited Christian curriculum, students can complete missing credits in their education and work successfully at their own speed. Teachers and assistants monitor progress through the classwork and help students who can use extra assistance with their work. Credits transfer easily to public and private schools, and those who complete the curriculum earn a high school diploma. Our new skills development center instructs students in a skilled trade as well as vital skills for the manufacturing environment, including welding skills, shop safety, work ethic for first time employees, as well as other disciplines.
To keep teens physically active we hold daily PE classes, including various sports and seasonal outdoor adventure activities, including hiking (the Appalachian Trail is nearby) and skiing. Weekly social activities also vary and may include bowling, movies, church, visiting museums and much more.
