Perfectly situated in the beautiful mountains of western North Carolina, Wolf Creek Academy serves teenage girls and boys on different parts of its campus who have a history of behavior difficulties, strained family relationships, and other emotional problems.
Wolf Creek specializes in attachment disorders and other serious relational and self-destructive behavioral difficulties in boys and girls. Our staff is highly qualified and trained to deal with and treat various psychological disorders that many other boarding schools that call themselves “therapeutic” are not equipped to handle.
We are a faith-based program devoted to integrity, character, and accountability. All of the teens who attend our program can learn to be productive individuals when given guidance and a chance to reach their potential.
Wolf Creek Academy sets up a nurturing home environment for teen boys and girls who have lost their way. Residents live in a comfortable home with a married couple team of houseparents and residential assistants. Within our family model, teenagers assist with daily chores typical of home life and learn to respect authority and cooperate with their peers.
Parent involvement is very important to the success of our therapeutic boarding school program.
Parents receive weekly verbal and email reports and play a role in the progress of their boy or girl.
For the teen, each morning commences with small group counseling sessions covering anger management, respect for authority, and several other topics of importance to teens. Weekly individual sessions help teens make progress toward their therapeutic goals. In addition, we have a special therapy program to manage issues related to drug and alcohol use and other addictive behaviors for example, eating disorders or cutting.
Our accredited school lets students succeed at their own pace.
Under our fully accredited Christian curriculum, students can complete missing credits in their education and work successfully at their own rate. Teachers and assistants monitor progress through the workbooks and help students who need extra assistance with their work. Credits transfer easily to public and private schools, and graduates earn a high school diploma. Our new skills development center teaches a skilled trade as well as vital skills for a manufacturing environment, including welding skills, shop safety, work ethic for new employees, and also other disciplines.
To keep teens physically active we hold daily PE classes including a number of sports and seasonal outdoor adventure activities, including hiking (the Appalachian Trail is nearby) and skiing. Weekly social activities also vary and may include bowling, movies, church, visiting museums, plus more.
Wolf Creek Academy wants your teenager to learn a more productive and positive way of life, improve their academics, and improve their decision-making abilities.
