As you search around Princeton for a residential program for troubled teens, we invite you to look also at Wolf Creek Academy. While not in Princeton, West Virginia, Wolf Creek Academy is devoted to family restoration and putting teens back on the right path for a bright future.
Situated in the beautiful mountains of western North Carolina, Wolf Creek Academy serves teenage boys and girls on different parts of its campus who have a record of behavior difficulties, damaged family relationships, or any other emotional issues.
Wolf Creek specializes in attachment disorders and other serious relational and self-destructive behavioral difficulties in boys and girls. Our staff is highly qualified and trained to deal with and treat various psychological disorders that many other boarding schools that call themselves “therapeutic” are not equipped to handle.
We are a faith-based program devoted to integrity, character, and personal responsibility. Each of the teens who attend our program can learn to be productive members of society when given guidance and the opportunity to reach their potential.
Wolf Creek Academy offers a protective home environment for teen boys and girls who have lost their way. Residents live in a comfortable home run by a husband and wife team of houseparents and residential assistants. In this family model, boys and girls help with daily chores typical of home life and learn to respect authority and cooperate with their peers.
Parent involvement is important to the success of our therapeutic boarding school program.
Parents stay informed with weekly verbal and email reports and remain involved in progress of their teen.
For the teen, every day begins with small group counseling sessions about anger management, respect for authority, and lots of other topics highly relevant to teens. Weekly individual sessions help residents make progress toward their counseling goals. We also have a risky activities program to deal with issues related to drug use or any other addictive behaviors such as eating disorders or cutting.
Our accredited school lets students succeed at their own pace.
Using our fully accredited Christian curriculum, students can catch up in their education and work successfully at their particular speed. Teachers and assistants monitor progress through the courses and help students who require extra input for their work. Credits transfer easily to other schools, and those who complete the curriculum earn a high school diploma. Our recently added skills development center offers a skilled trade along with vital skills for the manufacturing environment, including welding skills, shop safety, work ethic for new employees, and also other disciplines.
To help keep teens physically active we hold daily PE classes, including various sports and seasonal outdoor adventure activities, including hiking (the Appalachian Trail is nearby) and skiing. Weekly social activities also vary and may include bowling, movies, church, visiting museums, plus more.
Wolf Creek Academy wants your child to learn a more productive and positive way of life, improve their academics, and improve their decision-making abilities.
