Wolf Creek specializes in attachment disorders and other serious relational and self-destructive behavioral difficulties in boys and girls. Our staff is highly qualified and trained to deal with and treat various psychological disorders that many other boarding schools that call themselves “therapeutic” are not equipped to handle.
We are a faith-based program emphasizing integrity, character, and personal responsibility. All of the teens who attend our program can become productive citizens when given guidance and an opportunity to reach their potential.
Wolf Creek Academy provides a protective home environment for teen boys and girls who have gone off course. Residents live in a comfortable home run by a husband and wife team of houseparents and residential assistants. Inside our family model, teenagers participate in daily chores normal for home life and learn to respect authority and interact with their peers.
Parent involvement is crucial to the success of our therapeutic boarding school program.
Parents receive weekly verbal and email reports and participate in the progress of their teen.
For the teen, each morning starts off with small group counseling sessions related to anger management, respect for authority, and a lot of other topics of importance to teens. Weekly individual sessions help residents make progress toward their counseling goals. In addition, we have a special therapy program to manage issues related to drug abuse and other addictive behaviors like eating disorders or cutting.
Our accredited school lets students achieve at their own pace.
In our fully accredited Christian curriculum, students can complete missing credits in their education and work successfully at their unique pace. Teachers and assistants monitor progress through the courses and help students who require extra help with their work. Credits transfer easily to public and private schools, and graduates earn a high school diploma. Our new skills development center instructs students in a skilled trade as well as vital skills for a manufacturing environment, including welding skills, shop safety, work ethic for new employees, along with other disciplines.
To keep teens physically active we conduct daily PE classes including a number of sports and seasonal outdoor adventure activities, including hiking (the Appalachian Trail is nearby) and skiing. Weekly social activities also vary and include bowling, movies, church, visiting museums and much more.
