Situated in the beautiful mountains of western North Carolina, Wolf Creek Academy serves teenage girls and boys on different parts of its campus who have a history of behavior difficulties, damaged family relationships, and other emotional issues.
Wolf Creek specializes in attachment disorders and other serious relational and self-destructive behavioral difficulties in boys and girls. Our staff is highly qualified and trained to deal with and treat various psychological disorders that many other boarding schools that call themselves “therapeutic” are not equipped to handle.
We are a faith-based program emphasizing integrity, character, and personal responsibility. All of the teens who attend our program can be productive individuals when given guidance and the opportunity to reach their potential.
Wolf Creek Academy sets up a protective home environment for teen boys and girls who have gone off course. Residents live in a comfortable home with a husband and wife team of houseparents and residential assistants. In this family model, girls and boys are responsible for daily chores normal for home life and learn to respect authority and interact with their peers.
Parent involvement is very important to the effectiveness of our therapeutic boarding school program.
Parents receive weekly verbal and email reports and play a role in the progress of their son or daughter.
For the teen, each day starts off with small group counseling sessions regarding anger management, respect for authority, and a lot of other topics relevant to teens. Weekly individual sessions help teens make progress toward their therapeutic goals. Our program also includes a risky activities program to deal with issues related to drug use and other addictive behaviors including eating disorders or cutting.
Our accredited school lets students achieve at their own pace.
Under our fully accredited Christian curriculum, students can complete missing credits in their education and work successfully at their unique speed. Teachers and assistants monitor progress through the workbooks and help students who need extra input for their work. Credits transfer easily to other schools, and graduates earn a high school diploma. Our recently added skills development center teaches a skilled trade along with vital skills for any manufacturing environment, including welding skills, shop safety, work ethic for new employees, along with other disciplines.
To help keep teens physically active we hold daily PE classes including many different sports and seasonal outdoor adventure activities, including hiking (the Appalachian Trail is nearby) and skiing. Every week, social activities also vary and can include bowling, movies, church, visiting museums plus much more.
Wolf Creek Academy wants your child to learn a more productive and positive way of life, improve their academics, and improve their decision-making abilities.
