Found in the beautiful mountains of western North Carolina, Wolf Creek Academy serves teenage girls and boys on different parts of its campus who have a record of behavior difficulties, broken family relationships, and other emotional issues.
Wolf Creek specializes in attachment disorders and other serious relational and self-destructive behavioral difficulties in boys and girls. Our staff is highly qualified and trained to deal with and treat various psychological disorders that many other boarding schools that call themselves “therapeutic” are not equipped to handle.
We are a faith-based program emphasizing integrity, character, and personal responsibility. All of the teens who attend our program can be productive members of society when given guidance and an opportunity to reach their potential.
Wolf Creek Academy provides a safe home environment for teen boys and girls who have lost their way. Residents live in a comfortable home with a married couple team of houseparents and residential assistants. Inside our family model, teens are responsible for daily chores common to home life and discover how to respect authority and interact with their peers.
Parent involvement is important to the effectiveness of our therapeutic boarding school program.
Parents receive weekly verbal and email reports and remain involved in progress of their child.
For the teen, each morning starts off with small group counseling sessions regarding anger management, respect for authority, and many other topics highly relevant to teens. Weekly individual sessions help teens make progress toward their behavioral goals. We also have a risky activities program to handle issues related to drug use and other addictive behaviors such as eating disorders or cutting.
Our accredited school lets students achieve at their own pace.
In our fully accredited Christian curriculum, students can complete missing credits in their education and work successfully at their particular rate. Teachers and assistants monitor progress through the material and help students who need extra input for their work. Credits transfer easily to public and private schools, and those who complete the curriculum earn a high school diploma. Our recently added skills development center instructs students in a skilled trade as well as vital skills for the manufacturing environment, including welding skills, shop safety, work ethic for brand new employees, and other disciplines.
To keep teens physically active we hold daily PE classes including a variety of sports and seasonal outdoor adventure activities, including hiking (the Appalachian Trail is nearby) and skiing. Every week, social activities also vary and can include bowling, movies, church, visiting museums, plus more.
Wolf Creek Academy wants your child to learn a more productive and positive way of life, improve their academics, and improve their decision-making abilities.
