Wolf Creek specializes in attachment disorders and other serious relational and self-destructive behavioral difficulties in boys and girls. Our staff is highly qualified and trained to deal with and treat various psychological disorders that many other boarding schools that call themselves “therapeutic” are not equipped to handle.
We are a faith-based program devoted to integrity, character, and personal responsibility. All of the teens who attend our program can grow into productive citizens when given guidance and the opportunity to reach their potential.
Wolf Creek Academy provides a protective home environment for teen boys and girls who have gone off course. Residents live in a comfortable home run by a husband and wife team of houseparents and residential assistants. In this family model, teenagers participate in daily chores typical of home life and learn how to respect authority and get along with their peers.
Parent involvement is very important to the effectiveness of our therapeutic boarding school program.
Parents stay up to date with weekly verbal and email reports and remain involved in progress of their boy or girl.
For the teen, each day starts with small group counseling sessions related to anger management, respect for authority, and lots of other topics highly relevant to teens. Weekly individual sessions help teens make progress toward their behavioral goals. We also have a risky activities program to manage issues related to drug abuse or any other addictive behaviors including eating disorders or cutting.
Our accredited school lets students find success at their own pace.
With our fully accredited Christian curriculum, students can complete missing credits in their education and work successfully at their own rate. Teachers and assistants monitor progress through the workbooks and help students who can use extra input for their work. Credits transfer easily to other schools, and those who complete the curriculum earn a high school diploma. Our new skills development center instructs students in a skilled trade as well as vital skills for any manufacturing environment, including welding skills, shop safety, work ethic for first time employees, along with other disciplines.
To keep teens physically active we conduct daily PE classes, including various sports and seasonal outdoor adventure activities, including hiking (the Appalachian Trail is nearby) and skiing. Weekly social activities also vary and may include bowling, movies, church, visiting museums, plus more.
