Situated in the beautiful mountains of western North Carolina, Wolf Creek Academy serves teenage girls and boys on different parts of its campus who have a record of behavior difficulties, damaged family relationships, or any other emotional problems.
Wolf Creek specializes in attachment disorders and other serious relational and self-destructive behavioral difficulties in boys and girls. Our staff is highly qualified and trained to deal with and treat various psychological disorders that many other boarding schools that call themselves “therapeutic” are not equipped to handle.
We are a faith-based program devoted to integrity, character, and accountability. All of the teens who attend our program can learn to be productive individuals when given guidance and an opportunity to reach their potential.
Wolf Creek Academy gives a protective home environment for teen boys and girls who lack direction. Residents live in a comfortable home run by a married couple team of houseparents and residential assistants. Within our family model, boys and girls assist with daily chores typical of home life and discover how to respect authority and cooperate with their peers.
Parent involvement is crucial to the effectiveness of our therapeutic boarding school program.
Parents stay up to date with weekly verbal and email reports and play a role in the progress of their teen.
For the teen, each day begins with small group counseling sessions regarding anger management, respect for authority, and a lot of other topics of importance to teens. Weekly individual sessions help teens make progress toward their behavioral goals. In addition, we have a special therapy program to manage issues related to drug abuse or any other addictive behaviors such as eating disorders or cutting.
Our accredited school lets students find success at their own pace.
In our fully accredited Christian curriculum, students can complete missing credits in their education and work successfully at their own pace. Teachers and assistants monitor progress through the courses and help students who need extra input for their work. Credits transfer easily to public and private schools, and graduates earn a high school diploma. Our new skills development center teaches a skilled trade along with vital skills for any manufacturing environment, including welding skills, shop safety, work ethic for brand new employees, as well as other disciplines.
To help keep teens physically active we conduct daily PE classes including many different sports and seasonal outdoor adventure activities, including hiking (the Appalachian Trail is nearby) and skiing. Every week, social activities also vary and can include bowling, movies, church, visiting museums and more.

|More about therapeutic boarding schools near the state of Pennsylvania:
Wexford is an unincorporated community in Allegheny County, Pennsylvania, United States. The area known as Wexford is split among multiple municipalities, including Franklin Park, McCandless, Pine Township, and Marshall Township. It is named after County Wexford, Ireland.
Home to many upper-middle-class people, Wexford’s commercial landscape is dominated by a mixture of corporate chains, car dealerships, and a number of local small businesses, concentrated on the main thoroughfare of the “Wexford Flats”, U.S. Route 19. It is also home to what is considered to be one of the top high schools in Pennsylvania, North Allegheny Senior High School. Other schools in the area are Pine-Richland High School, and Vincentian Academy.
It was recently ranked the twenty-eighth best place to live by Money magazine, despite it being essentially a postal zip code and a general descriptor of a section of suburban Pittsburgh, not a formal town. The presence North Allegheny Senior High School, a large, well funded public high school, the numerous businesses, and a number of churches along the “Wexford Flats” gives the area a more distinct community identity than simply an otherwise unremarkable suburb in the Greater Pittsburgh Area. Adjacent to Wexford is North Park and North Park lake. This area is a great feature to the community featuring many hiking/biking trails, 5 mile paved running path around the lake, many pavilions for outdoor events, outdoor ice rink, golf course, dog parks, and local restaurants and shops. The lake is currently under construction including dredging and refinishing shore lines, but plans to be completed by 2012.
The Wexford area is a growing community with subdivisions and neighborhoods constantly increasing. To account for the immense increase in population in the past few years and for years to come, the county has finally been forced to make a change to Rt 19, the road that runs clear through the “flats”. This will be an ongoing project, with a projected due date of 2012. The four lane (two each way) road is prone to accidents, due to the amount of traffic and the difficulty in making turns onto side roads. The project includes adding a center turning lane starting before North Allegheny Senior High School to Church Road.
