Located in the beautiful mountains of western North Carolina, Wolf Creek Academy serves teenage boys and girls on different parts of its campus who have a record of behavior difficulties, strained family relationships, or any other emotional issues.

Wolf Creek specializes in attachment disorders and other serious relational and self-destructive behavioral difficulties in boys and girls.  Our staff is highly qualified and trained to deal with and treat various psychological disorders that many other boarding schools that call themselves “therapeutic” are not equipped to handle.

We are a faith-based program emphasizing integrity, character, and accountability. All of the teens who attend our program can be productive citizens when given guidance and a chance to reach their potential.

Wolf Creek Academy gives a protective home environment for teen boys and girls who lack direction. Residents live in a comfortable home with a married couple team of houseparents and residential assistants. Within our family model, girls and boys help with daily chores common to home life and learn to respect authority and cooperate with their peers.

Parents stay up to date with weekly verbal and email reports and remain involved in progress of their child.

For the teen, every day begins with small group counseling sessions related to anger management, respect for authority, and lots of other topics of importance to teens. Weekly individual sessions help residents make progress toward their behavioral goals. In addition, we have a special therapy program to cope with issues related to drug and alcohol use or any other addictive behaviors such as eating disorders or cutting.

Our accredited school lets students find success at their own pace.

With our fully accredited Christian curriculum, students can fill in gaps in their education and work successfully at their unique pace. Teachers and assistants monitor progress through the classwork and help students who need extra input for their work. Credits transfer easily to public and private schools, and those who complete the curriculum earn a high school diploma. Our recently added skills development center instructs students in a skilled trade along with vital skills for the manufacturing environment, including welding skills, shop safety, work ethic for first time employees, as well as other disciplines.

More about therapeutic boarding schools near the state of Virginia:

Yorktown is a census-designated place in York County, Virginia, United States. The population was 220 in the 2000 census. It is the county seat of York CountyGR, one of the eight original shires formed in colonial Virginia in 1634.
The town is most famous as the site of the siege and subsequent surrender of General Cornwallis to General George Washington during the American Revolutionary War on October 19, 1781. Although the war would last for another year, this British defeat at Yorktown effectively ended the war. Yorktown also figured prominently in the American Civil War (18611865), serving as a major port to supply both northern and southern towns, depending upon who held Yorktown at the time.
Today, Yorktown is part of an important national resource known as the Historic Triangle of Yorktown, Jamestown and Williamsburg, and is the eastern terminus of the Colonial Parkway. Yorktown is also the eastern terminus of the TransAmerica Trail, a bicycle touring route created by the Adventure Cycling Association.
