Helping Teens Reach their Full Potential
Wolf Creek Academy serves teenage girls and boys on different parts of its campus who have a history of behavior difficulties, damaged family relationships, or other emotional problems. We are a faith-based program devoted to integrity, character, and accountability. All of the teens who attend our program can learn to be productive members of society when given guidance and an opportunity to reach their potential.
Wolf Creek Academy sets up a loving home environment for teen boys and girls who lack direction. Residents live in a comfortable home with a married couple team of houseparents and assistants. Inside our family model, girls and boys are responsible for daily chores typical of home life and learn how to respect authority and get along with their peers.
Keeping Parents Involved in the Program for Restoration for the Whole Family
Parent involvement is very important to the effectiveness of our therapeutic boarding school program. Parents stay up to date with weekly verbal and email reports and remain involved in progress of their boy or girl.
For the teen, each morning starts off with small group counseling sessions regarding anger management, respect for authority, and many other topics relevant to teens. Weekly individual sessions help residents make progress toward their counseling goals. We also have a risky activities program to deal with issues related to drug abuse or other addictive behaviors for example, eating disorders or cutting.
Accredited School Lets Students Succeed at Their Own Pace
Under our fully accredited Christian curriculum, students can fill in gaps in their education and work successfully at their particular pace. Teachers and assistants monitor progress through the material and help students who need extra help with their work. Credits transfer easily to public and private schools, and those who complete the curriculum earn a high school diploma. Our recently added skills development center teaches a skilled trade along with vital skills for a manufacturing environment, including welding skills, shop safety, work ethic for new employees, along with other disciplines.
To help keep teens physically active we hold daily PE classes, including various sports and seasonal outdoor adventure activities, including hiking (the Appalachian Trail is nearby) and sledding. Weekly social activities also vary and include bowling, movies, church, visiting museums and much more.
