Believing Teens Can Reach their Full Potential
Situated in the beautiful mountains of western North Carolina, Wolf Creek Academy serves teenage boys and girls on different parts of its campus who have ongoing behavior difficulties, damaged family relationships, and other emotional problems. We are a faith-based program emphasizing integrity, character, and personal responsibility. All of the teens who attend our program can become productive members of society when given guidance and an opportunity to reach their potential.
Wolf Creek Academy provides a loving home environment for teen boys and girls who have gone off course. Residents live in a comfortable home run by a married couple team of houseparents and assistants. In our family model, girls and boys are responsible for daily chores typical of home life and learn to respect authority and get along with their peers.
For the teen, every day starts off with small group counseling sessions about anger management, respect for authority, and a lot of other topics of importance to teens. Weekly individual sessions help residents make progress toward their counseling goals. In addition, we have a special therapy program to manage issues related to drug abuse and other addictive behaviors for example, eating disorders or cutting.
The Wolf Creek Accredited School Lets Students Find Success at Their Own Pace
Using our fully accredited Christian curriculum, students can catch up in their education and work successfully at their own rate. Teachers and assistants monitor progress through the courses and help students who need extra input for their work. Credits transfer easily to other schools, and those who complete the curriculum earn a high school diploma. Our recently added skills development center teaches a skilled trade along with vital skills for the manufacturing environment, including welding skills, shop safety, work ethic for brand new employees, along with other disciplines.
To keep teens physically active we hold daily PE classes, including various sports and seasonal outdoor adventure activities, including hiking (the Appalachian Trail is nearby) and skiing. Weekly social activities also vary and include bowling, movies, church, visiting museums and much more.
Wolf Creek Academy wants your son or daughter to become all that he or she can be. We offer a loving, home-like environment with professional counseling to help teens make better choices in life. Though we are not situated in Alaska , the North Carolina mountains give a beautiful setting for restoration and growth.
