Helping Teens Reach their Full Potential
Found in the beautiful mountains of western North Carolina, Wolf Creek Academy serves teenage girls and boys on different parts of its campus who have a record of behavior difficulties, damaged family relationships, or any other emotional problems. We are a faith-based program dedicated to integrity, character, and personal responsibility. All the teens who attend our program can become productive citizens when given guidance and a chance to reach their potential.
Wolf Creek Academy gives a protective home environment for teen boys and girls who lack direction. Residents live in a comfortable home run by a married couple team of houseparents and assistants. In our family model, girls and boys help with daily chores typical of home life and learn to respect authority and get along with their peers.
For the teen, each morning begins with small group counseling sessions regarding anger management, respect for authority, and a lot of other topics relevant to teens. Weekly individual sessions help teens make progress toward their counseling goals. Our program also includes a risky activities program to manage issues related to drug and alcohol use or any other addictive behaviors for example, eating disorders or cutting.
The Wolf Creek Accredited School Lets Students Find Success at Their Own Pace
In our fully accredited Christian curriculum, students can fill in gaps in their education and work successfully at their unique pace. Teachers and assistants monitor progress through the workbooks and help students who require extra help with their work. Credits transfer easily to other schools, and those who complete the curriculum earn a high school diploma. Our recently added skills development center instructs students in a skilled trade as well as vital skills for a manufacturing environment, including welding skills, shop safety, work ethic for new employees, and other disciplines.
To help keep teens physically active, we run daily PE classes, including various sports and seasonal outdoor adventure activities, including hiking (the Appalachian Trail is nearby) and skiing. Every week, social activities also vary and include bowling, movies, church, visiting museums and much more.
Wolf Creek Academy wants your teen to grow into all that he or she can be. We provide a loving, home-like environment with professional counseling to help teens get back on track. Though we are not located in Arkansas , the North Carolina mountains give a beautiful setting for restoration and growth.
