Helping Teens Reach their Full Potential
Located in the beautiful mountains of western North Carolina, Wolf Creek Academy serves teenage boys and girls on different parts of its campus who have a history of behavior difficulties, damaged family relationships, or any other emotional issues. We are a faith-based program dedicated to integrity, character, and personal responsibility. All of the teens who attend our program can grow into productive citizens when given guidance and the opportunity to reach their potential.
Wolf Creek Academy gives a safe home environment for teen boys and girls who have lost their way. Residents live in a comfortable home with a married couple team of houseparents and assistants. Within our family model, teenagers participate in daily chores typical of home life and discover how to respect authority and interact with their peers.
For the teen, each day starts off with small group counseling sessions about anger management, respect for authority, and several other topics relevant to teens. Weekly individual sessions help residents make progress toward their therapeutic goals. In addition, we have a special therapy program to handle issues related to drug use or any other addictive behaviors including eating disorders or cutting.
The Wolf Creek Accredited School Lets Students Succeed at Their Own Pace
Using our fully accredited Christian curriculum, students can complete missing credits in their education and work successfully at their particular pace. Teachers and assistants monitor progress through the courses and help students who can use extra assistance with their work. Credits transfer easily to public and private schools, and graduates earn a high school diploma. Our new skills development center teaches a skilled trade along with vital skills for the manufacturing environment, including welding skills, shop safety, work ethic for new employees, along with other disciplines.
To keep teens physically active, we run daily PE classes including many different sports and seasonal outdoor adventure activities, including hiking (the Appalachian Trail is nearby) and skiing. Weekly social activities also vary and may include bowling, movies, church, visiting museums and much more.
Wolf Creek Academy wants your son or daughter to mature into all that he or she can be. We offer a loving, home-like environment with professional counseling to show teens how to make better choices in life. Though we are not in Kansas , the North Carolina mountains offer a beautiful setting for restoration and growth. More about therapeutic boarding schools near Kansas: Kansas is a U.S. state located in the Midwestern United States. It is named after the Kansas River which flows through it, which in turn was named after the Kansa Native American tribe, which inhabited the area. The tribe’s name (natively kk:ze) is often said to mean “people of the wind” or “people of the south wind,” although this was probably not the term’s original meaning. Residents of Kansas are called “Kansans.” Excerpt about therapeutic boarding schools for boys and girls near Kansas, used with permission from Wikipedia.
