Helping Teens Reach their Full Potential
Found in the beautiful mountains of western North Carolina, Wolf Creek Academy serves teenage boys and girls on different parts of its campus who have a record of behavior difficulties, damaged family relationships, and other emotional problems. We are a faith-based program dedicated to integrity, character, and personal responsibility. All of the teens who attend our program can learn to be productive individuals when given guidance and the opportunity to reach their potential.
Wolf Creek Academy sets up a nurturing home environment for teen boys and girls who have gone off course. Residents live in a comfortable home run by a married couple team of houseparents and assistants. Inside our family model, girls and boys help with daily chores common to home life and learn how to respect authority and get along with their peers.
For the teen, each day starts with small group counseling sessions regarding anger management, respect for authority, and many other topics highly relevant to teens. Weekly individual sessions help residents make progress toward their behavioral goals. In addition, we have a special therapy program to deal with issues related to drug abuse and other addictive behaviors like eating disorders or cutting.
The Wolf Creek Accredited School Lets Students Achieve at Their Own Pace
Under our fully accredited Christian curriculum, students can complete missing credits in their education and work successfully at their unique pace. Teachers and assistants monitor progress through the workbooks and help students who can use extra assistance with their work. Credits transfer easily to public and private schools, and those who complete the curriculum earn a high school diploma. Our recently added skills development center offers a skilled trade as well as vital skills for any manufacturing environment, including welding skills, shop safety, work ethic for new employees, and other disciplines.
To help keep teens physically active we hold daily PE classes including many different sports and seasonal outdoor adventure activities, including hiking (the Appalachian Trail is nearby) and skiing. Every week, social activities also vary and include bowling, movies, church, visiting museums and more.
Wolf Creek Academy wants your son or daughter to grow into all that he or she can be. Residents find a loving, home-like environment with professional counseling to assist teens to choose the right path. Though we are not in Louisiana , the North Carolina mountains are a beautiful setting for restoration and growth.
