Believing Teens Can Reach their Full Potential
Located in the beautiful mountains of western North Carolina, Wolf Creek Academy serves teenage boys and girls on different parts of its campus who have ongoing behavior difficulties, broken family relationships, or other emotional issues. We are a faith-based program dedicated to integrity, character, and personal responsibility. Each of the teens who attend our program can become productive individuals when given guidance and the opportunity to reach their potential.
Wolf Creek Academy provides a nurturing home environment for teen boys and girls who have lost their way. Residents live in a comfortable home with a married couple team of houseparents and assistants. Within our family model, teens help with daily chores common to home life and learn how to respect authority and relate well with their peers.
For the teen, each morning commences with small group counseling sessions related to anger management, respect for authority, and many other topics relevant to teens. Weekly individual sessions help teens make progress toward their counseling goals. Our program also includes a risky activities program to cope with issues related to drug abuse or other addictive behaviors like eating disorders or cutting.
The Wolf Creek Accredited School Lets Students Succeed at Their Own Pace
Using our fully accredited Christian curriculum, students can complete missing credits in their education and work successfully at their unique pace. Teachers and assistants monitor progress through the classwork and help students who require extra input for their work. Credits transfer easily to public and private schools, and graduates earn a high school diploma. Our recently added skills development center instructs students in a skilled trade as well as vital skills for a manufacturing environment, including welding skills, shop safety, work ethic for brand new employees, as well as other disciplines.
To keep teens physically active, we run daily PE classes, including various sports and seasonal outdoor adventure activities, including hiking (the Appalachian Trail is nearby) and skiing. Weekly social activities also vary and may include bowling, movies, church, visiting museums plus much more.
Wolf Creek Academy wants your teen to become all that he or she can be. We offer a loving, home-like environment with professional counseling to help teens get back on track. Though we are not located in Mississippi , the North Carolina mountains offer a beautiful setting for restoration and growth. We invite you to read the many resources on our website, particularly the word from our director about why parents choose residential programs, as you continue your pursuit in Mississippi and elsewhere.
