Helping Teens Reach their Full Potential
Found in the beautiful mountains of western North Carolina, Wolf Creek Academy serves teenage girls and boys on different parts of its campus who have a record of behavior difficulties, damaged family relationships, or any other emotional issues. We are a faith-based program devoted to integrity, character, and personal responsibility. All of the teens who attend our program can become productive citizens when given guidance and a chance to reach their potential.
Wolf Creek Academy sets up a protective home environment for teen boys and girls who have gone off course. Residents live in a comfortable home run by a husband and wife team of houseparents and assistants. Within our family model, teens participate in daily chores typical of home life and discover how to respect authority and get along with their peers.
For the teen, each morning starts with small group counseling sessions about anger management, respect for authority, and several other topics relevant to teens. Weekly individual sessions help residents make progress toward their behavioral goals. Our program also includes a risky activities program to deal with issues related to drug abuse or any other addictive behaviors like eating disorders or cutting.
The Wolf Creek Accredited School Lets Students Succeed at Their Own Pace
Using our fully accredited Christian curriculum, students can complete missing credits in their education and work successfully at their particular pace. Teachers and assistants monitor progress through the classwork and help students who need extra assistance with their work. Credits transfer easily to other schools, and graduates earn a high school diploma. Our recently added skills development center teaches a skilled trade along with vital skills for any manufacturing environment, including welding skills, shop safety, work ethic for brand new employees, as well as other disciplines.
To help keep teens physically active we conduct daily PE classes including many different sports and seasonal outdoor adventure activities, including hiking (the Appalachian Trail is nearby) and skiing. Every week, social activities also vary and may include bowling, movies, church, visiting museums and much more.
Wolf Creek Academy wants your son or daughter to become all that he or she can be. Residents find a loving, home-like environment with professional counseling to assist teens to choose the right path. Though we are not situated in New Hampshire , the North Carolina mountains are a beautiful setting for restoration and growth.
