Helping Teens Reach their Full Potential
Found in the beautiful mountains of western North Carolina, Wolf Creek Academy serves teenage girls and boys on different parts of its campus who have ongoing behavior difficulties, strained family relationships, or any other emotional issues. We are a faith-based program emphasizing integrity, character, and personal responsibility. All the teens who attend our program can be productive citizens when given guidance and the opportunity to reach their potential.
Wolf Creek Academy offers a nurturing home environment for teen boys and girls who lack direction. Residents live in a comfortable home run by a husband and wife team of houseparents and assistants. Within our family model, boys and girls assist with daily chores typical of home life and learn to respect authority and relate well with their peers.
For the teen, each morning starts off with small group counseling sessions covering anger management, respect for authority, and a lot of other topics highly relevant to teens. Weekly individual sessions help teens make progress toward their behavioral goals. Our program also includes a risky activities program to manage issues related to drug use or any other addictive behaviors including eating disorders or cutting.
The Wolf Creek Accredited School Lets Students Achieve at Their Own Pace
Under our fully accredited Christian curriculum, students can fill in gaps in their education and work successfully at their very own pace. Teachers and assistants monitor progress through the workbooks and help students who can use extra input for their work. Credits transfer easily to other schools, and those who complete the curriculum earn a high school diploma. Our new skills development center instructs students in a skilled trade along with vital skills for the manufacturing environment, including welding skills, shop safety, work ethic for first time employees, along with other disciplines.
To keep teens physically active, we run daily PE classes, including various sports and seasonal outdoor adventure activities, including hiking (the Appalachian Trail is nearby) and skiing. Every week, social activities also vary and may include bowling, movies, church, visiting museums plus much more.
Wolf Creek Academy wants your child to become all that he or she can be. We offer a loving, home-like environment with professional counseling to help teens choose the right path. Though we are not located in New Mexico , the North Carolina mountains give a beautiful setting for restoration and growth. We invite you to look through the many resources on our website, specifically the word from our director about why parents choose residential programs, as you continue your pursuit in New Mexico and elsewhere.
