Wolf Creek Academy provides a protective home environment for teen boys and girls who lack direction. Residents live in a comfortable home run by a husband and wife team of houseparents and assistants. Inside our family model, teenagers are responsible for daily chores common to home life and learn how to respect authority and cooperate with their peers.
Keeping Parents Engaged with the Program for Restoration for the Whole Family
Parent involvement is crucial to the effectiveness of our therapeutic boarding school program. Parents stay informed with weekly verbal and email reports and remain involved in progress of their son or daughter.
For the teen, each morning starts with small group counseling sessions about anger management, respect for authority, and lots of other topics highly relevant to teens. Weekly individual sessions help teens make progress toward their therapeutic goals. In addition, we have a special therapy program to handle issues related to drug abuse and other addictive behaviors for example, eating disorders or cutting.
Accredited School Lets Students Succeed at Their Own Pace
Using our fully accredited Christian curriculum, students can complete missing credits in their education and work successfully at their particular pace. Teachers and assistants monitor progress through the courses and help students who need extra assistance with their work. Credits transfer easily to public and private schools, and graduates earn a high school diploma. Our new skills development center instructs students in a skilled trade as well as vital skills for any manufacturing environment, including welding skills, shop safety, work ethic for first time employees, and other disciplines.
To keep teens physically active we conduct daily PE classes including a number of sports and seasonal outdoor adventure activities, including hiking (the Appalachian Trail is nearby) and skiing.
