Helping Teens Reach their Full Potential
Located in the beautiful mountains of western North Carolina, Wolf Creek Academy serves teenage boys and girls on different parts of its campus who have ongoing behavior difficulties, damaged family relationships, and other emotional issues. We are a faith-based program emphasizing integrity, character, and accountability. All of the teens who attend our program can be productive members of society when given guidance and the opportunity to reach their potential.
Wolf Creek Academy sets up a loving home environment for teen boys and girls who lack direction. Residents live in a comfortable home with a married couple team of houseparents and assistants. In this family model, boys and girls help with daily chores normal for home life and discover how to respect authority and relate well with their peers.
Keeping Parents Involved in the Program for Restoration for the Whole Family
Parent involvement is important to the effectiveness of our therapeutic boarding school program. Parents stay up to date with weekly verbal and email reports and participate in the progress of their boy or girl.
For the teen, each day begins with small group counseling sessions covering anger management, respect for authority, and several other topics of importance to teens. Weekly individual sessions help residents make progress toward their counseling goals. We also have a risky activities program to deal with issues related to drug and alcohol use and other addictive behaviors for example, eating disorders or cutting.
Accredited School Lets Students Achieve at Their Own Pace
In our fully accredited Christian curriculum, students can catch up in their education and work successfully at their own pace. Teachers and assistants monitor progress through the classwork and help students who need extra help with their work. Credits transfer easily to public and private schools, and graduates earn a high school diploma. Our new skills development center offers a skilled trade as well as vital skills for any manufacturing environment, including welding skills, shop safety, work ethic for new employees, along with other disciplines.
To keep teens physically active, we run daily PE classes including a number of sports and seasonal outdoor adventure activities, including hiking (the Appalachian Trail is nearby) and skiing. Weekly social activities also vary and include bowling, movies, church, visiting museums and much more.
