All the teens who attend our program can be productive members of society when given guidance and an opportunity to reach their potential.
Wolf Creek Academy provides a loving home environment for teen boys and girls who lack direction. Residents live in a comfortable home with a husband and wife team of houseparents and assistants. Within our family model, teenagers are responsible for daily chores common to home life and learn to respect authority and get along with their peers.
Keeping Parents Involved in the Program for Restoration for the Whole Family
Parent involvement is critical to the success of our therapeutic boarding school program. Parents stay up to date with weekly verbal and email reports and remain involved in progress of their son or daughter.
For the teen, each morning starts with small group counseling sessions about anger management, respect for authority, and lots of other topics highly relevant to teens. Weekly individual sessions help teens make progress toward their therapeutic goals. In addition, we have a special therapy program to cope with issues related to drug use and other addictive behaviors including eating disorders or cutting.
Accredited School Lets Students Achieve at Their Own Pace
With our fully accredited Christian curriculum, students can fill in gaps in their education and work successfully at their unique pace. Teachers and assistants monitor progress through the workbooks and help students who require extra assistance with their work. Credits transfer easily to other schools, and graduates earn a high school diploma. Our new skills development center instructs students in a skilled trade along with vital skills for any manufacturing environment, including welding skills, shop safety, work ethic for first time employees, along with other disciplines.
To keep teens physically active, we run daily PE classes including a variety of sports and seasonal outdoor adventure activities, including hiking (the Appalachian Trail is nearby) and skiing. Every week, social activities also vary and can include bowling, movies, church, visiting museums, plus more.
